area the opportunity to build a community of artists that will
create and market original fine art prints. The Fine Art Press
offers 20-25 artists the freedom to work independently and cooperatively
in a supportive, safe environment. The studio can accommodate

Dear
Friends,
We’re excited! Circling the Square Fine Art Press is
opening its doors for the first time during Artwalk Gardiner,
Friday, August 17, from 5-8 pm. The Press is located on the first
floor of the ARTDOGS building, 275 Water Street, in historic
downtown Gardiner. We’d love to have you come and see this
new addition to the Arts Community of Central Maine.
Circling the Square Fine Art Press is a studio
facility where Artist/printmakers can come and create their art.
The studio was designed to combine the best of the 500-year-old
traditions of printmaking with the safer new technologies of
the 21st Century. It can accommodate artists working in Relief,
Silkscreen (acrylic inks only), Intaglio (copper etching only),
and a variety of monotype and monoprint processes. Exhibition
space and collective projects will assist artists in marketing
their prints.
This Press is the culmination of a long held dream of Karen’s
to create an open access press where artists would have the freedom
to work independently and the opportunity to work cooperatively.
Jennifer signed on to Karen’s vision in the eleventh hour,
and brought a press. Central to the vision of Circling
the Square Fine Art Press is the formation of a dynamic
printmaking community, where artists work in a safe and mutually
supportive environment.
We would love to have you join us in the formation of this important
and dynamic printmaking community. Your voice, vision, and talents
would be so welcome. Would you become one of our charter members?
We have enclosed information detailing membership benefits and
terms.
Come and share in our excitement! The thoughtfully rehabbed
space looks fabulous! We hope to see you at Artwalk Gardiner. If
you want more information or would like to tour the facility
at some other time, contact us. You can call the Press at 582-2108;
our personal details are listed below.
Sincerely,
Circling the Square Fine Art Press
Karen Adrienne Jennifer
